BLACK ELEPHANT
Stephanie is the creator of BLACK ELEPHANT. She is a Mexican American artist from Southern Illinois with a passion to create art from the natural earth and recycle whenever possible! She grew up in foster care where she turned art into a form of therapy. After finishing grad school at SIU she became a social worker to help struggling youth in the community. Stephanie's passion for art has only continued to grow. She draws inspiration for her paintings from her Hispanic childhood. The Suncatchers she creates are made of branches that have been sanitized and sealed. Much of the strands come from recycled jewelry and sea glass along with earth produced minerals. Her Butterfly jewelry comes from ethically sourced butterfly’s who have lived out their natural life. She enjoys making unique art and taking care of the earth and the people on it!
